Minnesota alcohol treatment centers are some of the most time-tested and effective models of care in the United States.  Alcohol treatment in Minnesota began over 74 years ago.  People have been coming to the state seeking treatment for alcoholism and drug dependency ever since. Over the years, Minnesota alcohol treatment centers have become known for their effectiveness and the Minnesota Model of chemical dependency treatment has developed into the predominant modality for treating alcoholism and drug addiction in the United States.

The abstinence-based model incorporates the philosophy, program and practice embodied in the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Early members of AA understood that alcoholism was a mental, physical and spiritual illness. The Founders of AA developed the Twelve Steps to give people a spiritual solution to alcoholism and drug dependency.  Since 1935, AA’s philosophy of total abstinence and active involvement with a fellowship of recovering people has helped millions recover from a “seemingly hopeless state of mind and body”.

At The Retreat, we believe that alcoholics and drug dependent people have the fundamental ability to change their attitudes, behaviors and beliefs with the support of a caring community. The Retreat’s approach is modeled after the alcohol treatment facilities of the 1950′s.  We provide a different approach than other alcohol treatment centers in MN. Our simple, back to basics philosophy is not only affordable for the average family, but just as effective as the more expensive alcohol treatment programs in existence today.

If you are looking for a Minnesota alcohol treatment center or alcohol rehab, The Retreat may be able to help.  We strive to improve the quality of life for individuals, families and communities affected by alcohol and drug dependency.  Although we are not a clinical alcohol treatment center, we provide a viable alternative to alcohol treatment, for those not needing a clinically oriented experience, at a fraction of the cost.  Call the admissions office at 952-476-0566 or 866-928-3434.

The Retreat is not a replacement for medical treatment.  We do not serve people who need a clinical treatment experience.
