COR Retreat: A Food Addiction Program
The COR Retreat is a residential retreat program that’s held twice a month at the McIver Center for Spiritual Development, which is located on the grounds of The Retreat. COR Retreat is a residential food addiction retreat program that teaches a way to live free from the obsession with food and the excess weight it causes. It is a proven method to stop overeating for good.
The program dives into the full understanding of each participant’s food addiction and how to overcome it for good. It is a path to spiritual fitness, emotional balance, and recovery. At the COR Retreat, we use a proven model of behavior change, the Twelve Step recovery approach, that has brought relief to compulsive overeaters for decades. COR Retreat’s greatest asset is the fellowship of recovered people who have found the solution to their food addiction in a Twelve Step program.
The daily schedule at the COR Retreat is largely built on our faithful volunteers who carry the messages of hope and recovery. It’s a great way to connect with others and find your way out of overeating. The first step towards your food addiction recovery is attending one of our food addiction retreats. Throughout the retreat, you’ll learn how to heal your spirit, your heart, and your soul so you can successfully navigate the road to recovery.
Essential Information Regarding the Food Addiction Retreat
While the COR Retreat is not affiliated with The Retreat, it’s a great opportunity to take your recovery to new levels. Over the course of five days, participants will work together by participating in group discussions, Big Book studies, and shared meals. There will be plenty of time for individual reflections and discussions along with daily personal time, optional Recovery Yoga classes, and writing exercises. The schedule is designed with a number of 10-minute breaks throughout the day so that our participants can experience a non-rushed, peaceful program. After attending the COR Retreat, you will be given access to the COR Connection—an exclusive Facebook group for alumni that helps aid you through the food addiction recovery process.
