Sober Residences at The Retreat

St. Paul is one of the most vibrant recovery communities in the country. In addition to beautiful amenities, our St. Paul sober living residences give individuals the opportunity to practice the principles of recovery in their daily lives. Sober living provides individuals the time, structure, and support that's essential to building a strong foundation of recovery. Our sober residences understand the importance of structure and support, which is why we've developed our transitional, self-governing facilities for both men and women.

At The Retreat, we operate six self-governing sober houses for men and women to work closely with sponsors and create a safe and supportive environment while establishing a strong foundation for recovery as well as providing resources for a successful next step in the recovery journey.  Our program gives participants the opportunity to better understand addiction and practice the tools of recovery in their daily lives.  Men and women are housed separately in our homes and we can accommodate up to 70 individuals. Residents are encouraged to work together as a recovery community and support each other on their journey. As residents transition out of the sober housing program, they'll have an established network of support, which is crucial to the success of long-term recovery.

St. Paul is an excellent option for sober housing that offers hundreds of Twelve Step meetings, has a vibrant recovery community and is a great place to continue your recovery.  All of our houses are close to nature trails, restaurants and other great events and activities so you can strengthen your mind, body and soul.

The Retreat’s sober homes strive to improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities affected by alcohol and drug dependency. To make sure that our sober house residents are getting the most out of the program, we require a six-month commitment, on-time bill payments, and full-time work or school commitment. Sober house residents will need to attend a minimum of 4 AA meetings per week and work closely with an AA sponsor. Residents will attend a weekly sober house meeting and Big Book study in addition to a weekly service commitment. For more information on our sober living residences contact us today.

The St. Paul Community

The Retreat Sober Residences are located in one of the most vibrant recovering communities in the country.  The Twin Cities have been a mecca for recovery over 60 years.

Every day there are hundreds of Twelve Step meetings in the Minneapolis – St. Paul area.  The Retreat has harnessed the power of this community by inviting members to share their experience, strength and hope with our guests.  There are over 300 volunteers who actively participate in our continuum of services each month.

Our community based model exposes participants to a larger pool of wisdom than they would find in a more traditional staff based approach.  As guests transition out of the residential program they have already established a network of support which is crucial to long term recovery.  They have become a part of something greater and more powerful than themselves.
